Rustic Remodel

Smooth corners, square edges, and traditional finishes don’t always appeal to everyone. Janzen Builders had the privilege to do a house addition and “rustic” remodel. Not everyone takes the roof off their garage to add a master suite but in this case, through careful design and planning, it became an integrated part of their living space. The existing finishes were stripped and some moisture issues were also addressed. The Janzen Builders’ team moved and added window openings to allow more natural light for this beautiful prairie home. A solid 12” x 12” timber spanning 26’ was added to the vaulted main floor living room to add more of the rustic look sought after by the homeowners. The Janzen Builders’ team did the cribbing, framing, insulation/poly, drywall, mudding/taping, flooring, and finishing for this rustic, country-style home.
