This Rustic Retreat is located in the quaint community of Elkwater looking onto the hills and the lake. Before it’s renovation by Janzen Builders, the cabin’s ceiling beams that added to it’s charm were rotting and deteriorating. The cabin also suffered major damage from water runoff. Cory worked with the homeowners to draw up a plan to repair the damage. The plans also added two bedrooms, a bathroom, laundry room, and more storage. Being located on the hill allows for great views but can be challenging when it comes to parking and water runoff. To help with that, new retaining walls were built around the house as well as along the driveway. Therefore allowing for proper water drainage around the property. Proper stairs were added on the side of the house for safer access to the home. Now the homeowners can enjoy the hillside view without the headache. All the while hosting their family in comfort with ample parking available. What once only parked two vehicles now holds five comfortably with the added driveway.
The Rustic Retreat continues to be a treasured gathering place for the family. The short term renovation has created an opportunity to make more long lasting memories.
